Does a steep roof need different gutter guard?

It needs different specification, yes. Water comes off a high-pitch roof faster and hits the gutter harder, so mesh set at the wrong angle will deflect flow straight over the front lip in a downpour — the guard causes the overflow it was meant to prevent. What about the valleys on my roof?

How long does installation take on a multi-level home?

Longer than a standard single-storey job — typically one to two days depending on roof area, number of levels and valley count, plus access setup on a steep site.
